They will close everyone

You can go to theaters, you can't go to cafes. Restaurateurs took the decision of the authorities painfully

Restaurateur and ombudsman of the Moscow restaurant business Sergey Mironov, in a comment to the Telegram channel "Radiotochka NSN", expressed hope for the speedy completion of the forced "holidays". Earlier, the capital's mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced a regime of non-working days from October 28 to November 7 amid an increase in morbidity and mortality due to COVID-19. Restrictions will affect almost the entire service sector, holidays will be organized in schools and preschool institutions.
"The authorities did not warn us about the introduction of lockdown, but we were waiting for something like this, seeing the statistics of morbidity in Moscow. Everyone reacted differently to this. As entrepreneurs, of course, they took it painfully. As residents of Moscow, as citizens, many understand the need for this measure," the businessman said.
At the same time, the mayor's decree states that theaters and museums will be able to continue working, provided that the occupancy rate of the premises does not exceed 50%, as well as using QR codes and protective masks. According to Mironov, restaurants and cafes do not know why they were not allowed to stay open on similar terms.
"No explanation was given to us why work on QR codes [catering] was not allowed. The decree has just been issued. But Moscow is developing support measures, today a dialogue is underway with the mayor's office, so it will be possible to talk about losses only after final decisions on support are made. While Moscow is set up quite well, it plans to help business as much as possible. After the end of the period of non-working days, we expect regular free work," the restaurateur summed up.
Public catering enterprises need urgent and full-fledged assistance from the state, Anastasia Tatulova, the public ombudsman for the protection of small and medium-sized businesses, the founder of the Anderson cafe chain, said earlier in an interview with the Telegram channel "Radiotochka NSN". According to her, the industry will not cope with the consequences of another lockdown on its own.
