Experience and dialogue

Smolny was pointed out to the successful experience of not entering QR codes in Moscow

The participants of the conference, organized by the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia, shared their vision of the situation with QR codes in St. Petersburg. As the DP correspondent reports, representatives of the organization noted that the Moscow authorities, unlike their St. Petersburg colleagues, explain their decisions in detail to business.
Alexander Abrosimov, the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs in St. Petersburg, asked the participants of the press conference about how the capital managed to avoid the introduction of QR codes for catering.
"The law, which was not adopted as a result, spelled out the right of regions to enter or not to enter QR codes. In Moscow, we have dealt with the city hall, where there is a real danger. Restaurants also have ventilation. When we kick someone out of catering companies, they gather at home or in the office. And we came to the conclusion with the Mayor's office that there is no point in this (QR codes for catering)," said Sergey Mironov, restaurateur, public commissioner in the field of Moscow restaurant business.
He also noted that the authorities of the capital introduce subsidies for any restrictive measure.
President of the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers Igor Bukharov, in turn, drew attention to the fact that effective interaction between business and government is built in Moscow.
"Sobyanin (Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin) sits down with us and explains everything," Bukharov explained.
Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Industrial Policy and Innovation of St. Petersburg Alexandra Sitov, answering the question why the governor Alexander Beglov does not meet with restaurateurs, referred to the enormous burden and risks associated with COVID.
"We were preparing this (such a meeting), but then the fourth wave began, many fell ill. And I was sick. It is also necessary to take into account the enormous load (of the governor)," Sitov said.
At the same time, he assured that the meeting of business representatives and Governor Beglov would still take place.
"It is practically possible to guarantee the holding of such an event," the DP correspondent quotes the official's comment.
Recall that in St. Petersburg, from January 2, QR codes are asked from visitors of catering and trade enterprises (except grocery stores). The tightening of restrictions has caused a lot of criticism from the business community. Some businessmen are boycotting QR codes — 20 bars that joined the protest were sealed over the weekend.
