The number of visitors in Moscow cafes and restaurants has been decreasing for the second week in a row. In the last 7 days alone, traffic has halved. Ombudsman in the restaurant business Sergei Mironov told Vedomosti about this. According to experts, the outflow of visitors occurs against the backdrop of the rapid spread of the strain of coronavirus "omicron". Over the past 24 hours, a new record for cases has been recorded in Russia.

According to Sergey Mironov, for the week from January 24 to January 30, traffic fell by 40-50%. These figures were confirmed by Alexei Nebolsin, a member of the Presidium of Opora Rossii. The traffic of restaurants and large gastromarkets in Moscow from January 24 to 26 on average decreased by 15-20%, said Marina Malakhatko, head of the CBRE retail department. According to the President of the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers Igor Bukharov, the outflow of visitors began on January 18.

The ombudsman for the restaurant business added that the number of visitors will increase in about 2 weeks. Experts specified that the situation will depend on the epidemiological situation.
